I Like the Waaayyy You Move: Body Biomechanics

OutKast said it best. We (chiropractors) love the way you move because it provides powerful insight into how our body functions! By understanding the principles of body biomechanics, we can identify the underlying causes of musculoskeletal disorders and develop effective treatment plans for our patients.

For example, if a patient presents with lower back pain, we look at biomechanical factors such as posture, gait, and joint range of motion to identify any areas of dysfunction that may be contributing to the pain. This sometimes means assessing and treating parts of the body that may not exactly be the area in pain.

Treatment often involves spinal adjustments, which are designed to restore proper joint alignment and movement, soft tissue therapies such as Graston or trigger point therapy, rehabilitative exercises or stretches.

Overall, chiropractic and biomechanics go hand in hand. With our understanding of biomechanics, we can develop effective treatment plans to address musculoskeletal disorders and improve overall health and well-being. If you’re experiencing pain or discomfort, reach out to us. We’d love to help! Let’s formulate a personalized treatment plan based on your unique needs today.
